 Three New Books!

  • Stephen's essay on the struggle to understand the implications of climate change, A Green Reef: The Impact of Climate Change, appears from Linda Leith Publishing  in Fall 2013.

  • In Spring 2014, McGill-Queen's University Press will publish Sandino's Nation: Ernesto Cardenal and Sergio Ramírez Writing Nicaragua, 1940-2012, Stephen's 700-page-plus examination of Nicaraguan literature and history.  For a sneak preview of the cover, click here.

  • Also in Spring 2014, Biblioasis will publish Stephen's English translation of Ondjaki's novel Granma Nineteen and the Soviet's Secret.  

 Stephen's short story, "The Telescope," will appear in the anthology Lonely Boy. Stories of Father Loss, edited by Carla Maria Lucchetta, forthcoming from Cormorant Books.

 Stephen is one of the writers interviewed in Kit Dobson and Smaro Kamboureli's recent book Producing Canadian Literature: Writers Speak on the Literary Marketplace.   

 

 Stephen's essay on the Giller Prize, appears in The Best Canadian Essays 2012, published by Tightrope Books,  and his essay on Mihail Sebastian's novel The Accident, which he translated into English, will be published in David B. MacDonald and Mary-Michelle DeCoste's Europe in its Own Eyes, Europe in the Eyes of the Other in Spring 2014.
